HOW IT ALL STARTED

The inhabitants of the Schweizerhaus have been providing food and drink for visitors for more than 100 years. At first, however, there was no hotel & café, but a traditional dairy farm in this place. Then owner of the house, Anton Bergwanger, becomes a certified master craftsman for the production of milk and cheese products in 1936. Hereafter, the house is home to the cheese dairy of Wattersdorf for many years.

Schweizerhaus

There were incremental additions and building projects as well as a full renovation and refurbishment. The house got its name as a reference to the cradle of modern cheese making when it was reopened as a pension & café.

You will find a small collection of historic pictures of Weyarn and the Schweizerhaus in our restaurant room. Experience the charm of bygone times and let us welcome you with genuine traditional Bavarian hospitality.
